Information on Huskisson, Vincenyia and Hyams Beach |
|
Huskisson, the gateway to Jervis Bay, and just 10km from Booderee National Park, lies on the western shores of Jervis Bay Marine Park. Huskisson was first surveyed in 1840, and settled in the 1860s. It was named after William Huskisson, who was Colonial Secretary in the late 1820s and was killed in a railway accident in England. By the beginning of the 19th century its main industry was boat building, - nowadays it's a major holiday destination in the Shoalhaven area. Huskisson has many restaurants and the Jervis Bay Hotel is located here, also the cruise boats on dolphin and whale watching cruises depart from Huskisson Wharf (one of the prettiest on the south coast) daily. Huskisson accommodation ranges from Caravan Parks, Pub, Motels to B&Bs, Guesthouses and self-contained cottages.
Huskisson AccommodationHere you can take a fascinating dolphin explorer cruise (all year round) or whale-watching (June-July and September-October), go fishing or experience some of the best diving in NSW.
